CBI arrests chief controller of ECR Hajipur for accepting bribe of Rs 50000

Patna: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a chief controller (operating) of East Central Railway, Hajipur (Bihar) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant.

The accused has been identified as  Abhay Kumar, chief controller (operating), East Central Railway, Hajipur.

A case was registered against the accused Abhay Kumar on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs 3 lakh for arranging the selection of complainant’s son in railway as a peon using his contacts. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting undue advantage of Rs.50,000 from the complainant.  Searches were conducted at the premises of accused.

The arrested accused will be produced today before the Designated Court.
