Casa Picolla School Cricket U-15 League begins

Patna: Under the aegis of Turning Point, the Casa Picolla School Cricket Under-15 League got off to a colourful start on Wednesday at Krishna Stadium, Khemnichak. GNIOT Blasters and Oxford Super Kings won their respective matches played on the first day.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated jointly by president of Bihar Players Association cum RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari, stadium founder Dr Parmanand, Anjani Kumar, director of VTech Computer Education Ronit Narayan, Physio Dr Kundan Kumar and convener Sumit Sharma by releasing the balloons in the air. They were also introduced to the players. Turning Point’s director cum organising chairman Vijay Sharma welcomed the guests while joint convenor Naveen Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.

Raju Mishra of Manav Rachna University, Kapil Mittal of Sanskriti University, Javed Ashraf of RIT Roorkee, Jitendra Sinha of Oxford Business College, Aditya Singh, Nishant Kumar, Prem Ranjan of Arvind of The Mount Academy were present on the occasion.

In the first match of this league affiliated to Patna District Cricket Association, GNIOT Blasters defeated Rungta Blasters by 7 runs. Rungta Warriors won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, GNIOT Blasters scored 117 runs for two wickets in 18 overs. In reply, Rungta Warriors were all out for 110 runs in 16.5 overs. Aryan Mehta of the winning team was given the player of the match award.

 

In the second match, Oxford Super Kings beat BBIT Thunderbolt by 8 wickets. BBIT Thunderbolt won the toss and electing to bat first, made 60 runs in 15.3 overs. In relpy, Oxford Super King won the match by scoring 64 runs for two wickets in 10.2 overs. Agastya of the winning team was given the player of the match award.
