Bihar’s first private kabaddi academy launched

Patna: Dev Kabaddi Academy will play an important role in the development of Kabaddi in Bihar in the coming days. After getting more scientific training from this academy, budding talents of Bihar will bring laurels to their state and country, said president of Bihar State Kabaddi Association –cum- chief advisor to Bihar chief minister, Anjani Kumar Singh at the inauguration function of Dev Kabaddi Academy.

Bihar State Kabaddi Association president Anjani Kumar Singh and director general of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Shankaran jointly inaugurated Dev Kabaddi Academy registered with Bihar State Kabaddi Association at Devnagari-Nathupur on Dumri-Daulatpur road on Patna-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane.

JDU leader Ajay Singh, secretary of Bihar Olympic Association Mushtaq Ahmed, senior advocate of Patna High Court Ajay Kumar and secretary of Kabaddi Association of Jharkhand Vipin Kumar Singh, international kabaddi player Rajeev Kumar Singh lit the lamp to unveil the plaque. Kumar Vijay Singh, president of Dev Kabaddi Academy welcomed the guests. The function was anchored by Arun Kumar, secretary of Madhepura District Kabaddi Association.

Anjani Kumar Singh said that now kabaddi has become very glamorous sports and many countries are playing this game. He said that Bihar State Kabaddi Association is working day and night to promote Kabaddi in the State.

Director general of Bihar State Sports Authority, Raveendran Sankaran congratulated the owners and operators of this academy and said that this will greatly benefit the kabaddi players in Bihar. He said that others should come forward to set up such academies. He said that the Bihar government is doing better work for the development of sports and the players should focus on the game leaving aside all the worries.

Kumar Vijay, president of Dev Kabaddi Academy-cum-secretary of Bihar State Kabaddi Association, said that better training will be given to the players in this academy. This is also a residential academy.

On this occasion, Pro Kabaddi players Vikas Khandola, Sachin Tanwar, Ankit and Junior World Cup Kabaddi winning Indian team member Sagar Kumar were specially honoured.

Secretary of Bihar Football Association Syed Imtiaz Hussain, president of Handball Association Pankaj Kumar, secretary of Cycling Association of Bihar Dr Kaushal Kishore Singh, JDU leader Kamakhya Narayan Singh, deputy director of student and youth welfare department Sanjay Kumar, district sports Officer Omprakash, Wrestling Association’s Vinay Kumar, international kabaddi player Shama Parveen, Bihar State Kabaddi Association officials, district association officials, kabaddi coaches, players were present on the occasion.

An exhibition match of the girls’ section was organized on the occasion. The team of Dev Kabaddi Academy won the match.
