Patna: Durga Murmu has made Bihar proud by winning the gold medal in the 1500-meter race of the Khelo India Youth Games 2023-24 going on in Tamil Nadu. Giving this information, Bihar State Sports Authority Director General cum Chief Executive Officer Raveendran Sankaran said that along with winning the gold medal, Durga completed the race in 4:29:22 minutes and broke the previous record and became the new national champion of Khelo India Youth Games.
Sankaran claimed that Durga had been receiving training from the Bihar State Sports Authority at the Pataliputra Sports Complex for the previous two years, and the benefits of this training are now apparent to everyone in the world.
Expressing happiness over this golden victory by Durga making Bihar proud, Bihar Sports Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai, Additional Chief Secretary of Sports Department B Rajender, Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran and Director cum Secretary Pankaj Kumar Raj congratulated Durga and wished her a bright future.
