Patna: The Bihar girls’ and boys’ teams have been announced for the 68th SGFI Softball Championship (Under-17), scheduled to be held from 5 to 9 January in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. The announcement was made by Anandi Kumar, Sports Executive of the Bihar State Sports Authority, based on recommendations from the selectors.
The teams were selected through open trials conducted in September. Sanjay Kumar, Vice President of the Softball Association of Bihar, along with Joint Secretary Rupak Kumar and Narendra Kumar of the Bihar State Sports Authority, have extended their congratulations and best wishes to the teams for success in the championship.
Saloni Kumari of Patna has been appointed captain of the girls’ team, while Himanshu Kumar of Muzaffarpur will lead the boys’ team. Both teams are set to depart for the championship on Friday night via the Patna-Kurla Express.
