Bihar Triumph Over Meghalaya by Eight Wickets in Women’s Senior T-20 Trophy Opener

Patna: In the opening match of the Women’s Senior T-20 Trophy at the Sports Hub International Cricket Stadium in Trivandrum, Bihar emerged victorious against Meghalaya, winning by eight wickets. Meghalaya, having won the toss, chose to bat first but struggled, being bowled out for just 60 runs in 17.4 overs. Bihar comfortably chased the target, reaching 61 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 16 overs. Bihar’s next fixture is set against Rajasthan on 20th October.

Meghalaya’s innings saw four players—M Lengdoh, Suriti, Ajima, and Rebel—dismissed without scoring. Captain DD Dutta was the top scorer with 16 runs, followed by L Tamang with 9, Hajong with 8, Ruby Chhetri with 4, and Dayaka with 5 runs. Bihar’s bowlers delivered a strong performance; Apoorva Kumari took 3 wickets, Pragati Singh claimed 2, and Arya secured 1 wicket, while four run outs contributed to Meghalaya’s collapse.

In Bihar’s chase, Preeti was dismissed after scoring 20 runs, and Apoorva Kumari was out for 1 run. Yashita Singh, however, remained unbeaten with 26 runs, supported by Nikki, who scored 12 not out, sealing the win for Bihar.
