Patna: A 21-member Bihar team left Patna to participate in the Senior National Fencing Championship organized by the Fencing Association of India in Guwahati from January 28 to January 31.
Twenty-one players from all over Bihar have been selected in the Bihar team for this championship, which includes 12 players in the men’s category and nine players in the women’s category.
Giving this information, Bihar Fencing Association Secretary Kushal Prasad said that among the selected players in the men’s category, Harsh Raj, Tushar Kumar, Siddharth Kumar, Gopal Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Abhayjit Pal (all from Patna); Shivam Kumar, Sunny Kumar, Ravi Kumar Yadav (all from East Champaran); Akash Kumar from Saran, Satyam Kumar from Munger and Ved Prakash Ranjan from Jehanabad are included.
Women’s category: Krutika Kumari, Pinky Jaiswal, Shruti Kumari, Shreya Anand, Ashu Kumari (all from Patna); Kumari Honey and Disha Bharti (both from Banka), Dr. Meera Sinha from Nalanda and Deepshikha Chaudhary from Munger.
Devraj of Vaishali will be the coach of the team.
On this occasion, Patron of Bihar Fencing Association patron Ramashankar Prasad, president Sushmita Ratan, vice-president Madhu Sharma, Manish Kumar, secretary Kushal Prasad, joint secretaries Rajan Kumar and Appu Kumar, fencing coaches Rakesh Kumar and Sanjan Kumar Sharan extended best wishes for the success in the championship.
