Patna: In the Plate Group clash of the Vijay Merchant Trophy Under-16 Men’s Multiday Cricket Tournament at the MGM School of Sports ground in Cuttack, Bihar established a crucial first-innings lead of 28 runs over Tripura. The match, which concludes on Sunday, 8 December, saw Bihar reaching 221 for 8 in 92 overs by the end of the second day’s play.
Earlier in the day, Tripura, resuming at 190 for 9, managed to add only three more runs before being bowled out for 193. Bihar’s Satyam Raj claimed the final wicket to wrap up Tripura’s innings.
Bihar’s innings featured two standout performances, with Yash and Omkar Kumar scoring half-centuries. Yash contributed a steady 50 off 133 balls, including 7 boundaries, while Omkar Kumar added a brisk 52 off 86 deliveries, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Other notable contributions included Animesh Raj (23), Ashish Gupta (19), Satyam Raj (20), Mohit Kumar (21), and Pritam Raj (14).
