Bihar suffer innings defeat against Maharashtra in Col CK Nayudu Trophy

Patna: Maharashtra thrashed Bihar by an innings and 142 runs on the fourth day of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at MCA Cricket Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.

Resuming the day at 197 for five, Bihar were all out for 243 runs in their second innings. Overnight not out batsman and skipper of Bihar U-25 cricket team, Akash Raj just added 20 more runs to his overnight score of 105 before being out as the seventh wicket for Bihar. Bihar lost its seventh wicket at 227 when Akash Raj was caught by Porwal off Daud’s bowling. With the departure of Akash Raj, Bihar’s hopes to manage a draw faded as the tail-enders could not do much to talk about.

Bihar lost their first wicket of the day when Paramjeet Singh was adjudged leg before off Daud’s delivery. At that time, Bihar’s total was 197 for 6. Paramjeet made 12 runs.

For Maharashtra, Daud and Sohan took three wickets each.
