Patna: Bihar State Under 9 Chess Championship organised by Khelo Chess Academy under the aegis of All Bihar Chess Association began today. In this state chess championship organized at Aqua Water Park situated at Saguna Mor Danapur Road, after the completion of the second round today, a total of 11 players including all FIDE rated players were jointly leading with two points in the boys category. In the girls category, 5 players including top seeded FIDE rated player Ankita Raj were jointly leading with two points.
51 players are participating in the boys category of the competition while 20 players are participating in the girls category.
Earlier, this morning, the tournament was inaugurated by the Secretary of All Bihar Chess Association Dharmendra Kumar and the Chief Patron of the tournament cum Joint Commissioner of GST of Danapur region Ganga Prasad. On this occasion, Vice President of All Bihar Chess Association Jayprakash Sinha, Treasurer Manish Kumar, Joint Secretary Nandkishore, Shivpriya Bhardwaj, Himanshu Kumar, Organizing Secretary of the tournament Neha Singh, tournament Director Ashish Raj, Senior chess players Sudhir Kumar Sinha, Minhajul Hoda, Vijay Kumar along with players and their parents from all over the state were present.
