Bihar State senior, junior, cadet grappling wrestling begins

Patna: Sumant Kumar Mishra ( West Champaran) defeated Hrithik Kumar (Vaishali), in the junior boys category, Sunny Kumar (Patna) defeated Abhiraj Kumar (Vaishali) to enter the next round while in the cadet category, Shubham (Sheohar) defeated Vedant (Darbhanga) to enter the next round on the first day of the Bihar State Senior, Junior, Cadet Grappling Wrestling Championship at Kushwaha Ashram in Hajipur on Wednesday.

Earlier, this two-day state championship was formally inaugurated by the President of Grappling Wrestling Committee of Bihar, Kishlay Kishore and General Secretary Gouri Shankar. Vaishali MP’s representative Ram Ekbal Singh, Jawahar Singh, District President of East Champaran Grappling Wrestling committee Vinod Jaiswal were present as special guests.

Addressing the players and sports lovers, the Kishlay Kishore said that the grappling is rapidly becoming popular in the state. A lot of enthusiasm is being seen especially among the players from rural areas. Announcing that he will provide uniforms to the Bihar team participating in the national competition to be held in Rohtak (Haryana), he said that the sport of grappling wrestling will be brought into the category of the best sports of the state.

The guests were welcomed by Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Secretary of Vaishali District Grappling Wrestling Committee. The stage was anchored by Deepak Singh Kashyap of Motihari. On this occasion, District Secretary cum Technical Officer Satish Kumar, West Champaran District Secretary Vikas Kumar, international players Sangeeta Kumari, Veeresh Kumar and many eminent sports lovers were present.
