Patna: Bihar South, Bihar Red, Bihar Blue and Bihar North booked their berths in the semi-finals of the Women’s Cricket Championship for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cup organided under the aegis of Bharatiya Janata Party Sports Cell, Bihar at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.
Tournament coordinator Manisha said that on Saturday the first semi-final will be played between Bihar South and Bihar Red and the second semi-final will be played between Bihar Blue and Bihar North.
The match played on Friday was inaugurated by BJP’s national spokesperson Guru Prakash.
In the first match, Bihar Green defeated Bihar Orange by 4 wickets while in the second match, Bihar South defeated Bihar West by 9 wickets.
Bihar Green Vs Bihar Orange
Batting first after winning the toss, Bihar Orange scored 123 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Rupa scored 24 runs, Shweta scored 20 runs, Tanya 30 runs, Sapna scored 9 not out and Baby Rosie scored 10 not out. Anshu took 2 wickets and Khushi Gupta took one wicket for Green.
In reply, Bihar Green scored 124 runs losing 6 wickets in 19.1 overs. Soni Thakur scored 30 runs, Vishalakshi scored 52 runs, Swarnima Chakraborty scored 13 runs, Soni Kumari scored 13 runs. Ankita took 2 wickets and Chandni took one wicket for Orange.
Bihar South vs Bihar West
In the second match, Bihar South defeated Bihar West by 9 wickets. Bihar South won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, the Bihar West scored only 76 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Priyanshi scored 15 runs, Divya scored 7 runs, Rupa scored 5 not out and Gracy Singh scored 2 not out. Soni and Muskaan took two wickets each for Bihar South. Nisha Bharti, Sandhya Verma and Shreya took one wicket each.
In reply Bihar South scored 79 runs losing one wicket in 10.4 overs. Rachna scored 30 runs, Sandhya Verma scored 25 not out and Pratibha Kumari scored 9 not out. West team’s Shilpi Kumari took one wicket.
