Patna: Bihar Red defeated Bihar Orange by 7 wickets in the first match of Women’s Cricket Championship for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cup at Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday. The T20 tournament for women is being organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sports Cell (Bihar).
Bihar Orange won the toss and scored 114 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Rupa scored 41 runs, Sweta 23 runs, Sapna scored 11 runs. Red bowlers Simran took three wickets, Shobhana Saket bagged two wickets and Yashita Singh took one wicket.
In reply, Red scored 119 runs losing 3 wickets in 15.3 overs. Yashita Singh scored 59 runs, Shobhana Saketh scored 22 runs, and Prachi scored unbeaten 10 runs.
Rupa of Orange team took one wicket. Yashita Singh of the winning team was given the woman of the match award.
In the second match, Bihar Blue defeated Bihar Green by 41 runs. Blue won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 147 runs in 20 overs losing 3 wickets. Dolly scored 21 runs, Mamta scored 20 runs, Arya Seth scored 59 runs and Shikha Singh made unbeaten 32 runs.
Green bowlers Soni Thakur and Soni Singh took one wicket each.
In reply, Green were all out for 106 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Blue bowlers Priyanka bagged two wickets, Doli and Bhagya Shree took one wicket each. Arya Seth of the winning team was given the woman of the match award.
In the first match played at CAB ground, Bihar West defeated Bihar East by 9 wickets in a one-sided match. Surya Bhardwaj of the winning team was named woman of the match. In the second match, Bihar North defeated Bihar South by 5 wickets. Rachna Kumari of Bihar North was awarded the woman of the match.
