Patna: In their Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Cricket Tournament match against Maharashtra, Bihar staged a strong recovery to reach 204 for four wickets by the end of the second day’s play. Half-centuries from Satyam Kumar and Prithvi Raj helped stabilise the innings after an early collapse.

The match, held at the Chhatrapati Shivajinagar Stadium in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, saw the first day washed out due to rain. On the second day, Bihar won the toss and opted to bat. Despite a steady start, Bihar lost three quick wickets for just 13 runs. However, Satyam Kumar and Prithvi Raj rescued the innings with a crucial 74-run partnership.

After Prithvi’s dismissal for a well-made 52, Aditya Raj joined Satyam and added an unbeaten 72-run stand. At stumps, Satyam was batting on 55 off 145 balls, while Aditya Raj was unbeaten on 41 off 72 deliveries.

Earlier in the innings, Bihar captain Mohammad Alam contributed 19 runs, while Taufik and Dipesh Gupta added 24 and 5 runs, respectively.

Maharashtra’s bowlers were led by Anish Joshi, who took 2 wickets for 32 runs. Neeraj Joshi and Yogesh Chavan chipped in with a wicket each, conceding 10 and 54 runs, respectively.

With two days remaining, Bihar will aim to build on their solid recovery, while Maharashtra looks to break the current partnership and gain control of the match.
