Patna: Bihar opened their account of victory in the Cooch Behar Trophy by defeating Manipur by an innings and 332 runs at Gujarat College Ground in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Manipur scored 155 runs in their first innings and 119 runs in their second innings. Bihar declared their first innings at 606 for four. Bihar got full points in this match. Bihar will play their next match against Vidarbha from November 26 at the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna.
On the fourth and final day of play, Manipur started their second innings at 62 for four and were all out for 119 in the 53rd over. In the second innings Somokanta scored 45, Ulayai Khavariapakkam made 10, Hussain scored 14 and Kalyan scored 14 runs for Manipur.
For Bihar, Aniket took 3 for 24, Priyam Choubey 3 for 54, Aditya Raj 2 for 17, Anoop Kumar 1 for 11 and Animesh Kumar took 1 for 4.
Kumar Shrey played a record innings of 302 runs for Bihar in this match. Apart from this, Animesh Kumar (121 runs) and captain Ayush Anand (102 not out) scored centuries.
