Patna: Bihar defeated Tripura by 11 runs and posted their first win in the Women’s T-20 Trophy in Trivandrum on Sunday.
Tripura won the toss and invited Bihar to bat. Bihar scored 98 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Preeti scored 26, captain Apoorva Kumari scored 34, Pragati Singh scored 15 runs. Apart from this, Arya Seth scored 6 runs, and Preeti Priya scored 8 runs.
For Tripura, PA Acharji took 2 wickets for 11 runs, and Heena Hoatchandani took 2 wickets for 14 runs.
Chasing 99 runs to win, Tripura fetched in 39 runs for the first wicket. But after that Tripura suffered a batting collapse. M Devnath was dismissed lbw by Apoorva Kumari, scoring 21 runs. after that Tripura’s wicket kept falling at regular intervals, and the entire team was all out for 87 runs in 19.2 overs. For Tripura, Indra Rani contributed 26 runs for her team.
For Bihar, Preeti Priya took 3 wickets for 19 runs, Arya Seth took 2 wickets for 18 runs, Apoorva Kumari took 2 wickets for 11 runs, and Pragati Singh took one wicket for 12 runs. Bihar’s next match is against Railways on October 24.
