Patna: In the ongoing 36th National Games in Gujarat, Bihar’s opened its account with a bronze medal in women’s netball event. In the bronze medal match Bihar and Karnataka played 57-57 draw till the final hooter. Thus both the teams got the bronze medals.
In the first quarter of the match for the third place, Bihar beat Karnataka 12-8. In the second quarter, Karnataka defeated Bihar 16-8. In the third quarter, Bihar defeated Karnataka 14-10. In the fourth quarter, both the teams scored 23-23 points as the final score tied at 57-57 points. Extra time was also given but neither team could take the lead.
Fencing foil individual: The challenge of Harsh Raj of Bihar ended in the men’s foil individual event of fencing at the 36th National Games.
Team coach Shravan Kumar Gupta said that Harsh Raj had entered the knockout round but lost to L Toban Singh of Uttarakhand.
