New Delhi: On the occasion of 111th Bihar Foundation Day, Bihar industries minister Samir Kumar Mahaseth inaugurated the three-day long Bihar day celebrations at Bihar Utsav 2023 at INA Dilli Haat in Delhi. Additional chief secretary industries Sandeep Poundrik, director industries Pankaj Dixit, special secretary industries Dilip Kumar and renowned singer Maithili Thakur were also present on this occasion.
Industry minister Samir Mahaseth visited the stalls of handicrafts, handloom products, startups and Bihari cuisine and encouraged them by appreciating their unique products. After visiting the stalls, the industries minister enjoyed a cultural evening. In the cultural evening, famous singer Maithili Thakur mesmerized the audience with folk songs of Bihar. People danced till late evening enjoying the songs of Maithili Thakur.
Industries minister Samir Kumar Mahaseth said that from March 16 to March 31, 2023, Bihar Utsav and Bihar Day celebrations are being celebrated at INA Dilli Haat in New Delhi this year. For this Dilli Haat has been decorated on Bihar theme. He said that this time double stalls have been set up as compared to last time so that more and more artisans can get a big platform like Bihar Utsav to showcase their art.
This time, there are 120 stalls of Bihar’s famous handlooms and handicrafts like Bhagalpuri silk have been displayed. He said that through Bihar Utsav, the artists of Bihar get the opportunity for sale, exhibition and marketing of their handloom and handicraft products. Apart from this, the food stall of Bihari delicious dishes is also special. Products made by two artists, Kapil Dev Prasad of Bawan Booti Handicrafts and Subhadra Devi, a famous artist of Paper Messy and Madhubani painting, are the major centres of attraction at Bihar Utsav this year.
