Patna: Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Saturday honoured the coaches, officials of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association, and technical team members for their outstanding efforts in successfully organising the Chancellor Trophy Inter-University Kabaddi Tournament 2024. In his address, the Governor acknowledged their commitment to Kabaddi, emphasising that their dedication had helped create a thriving atmosphere for the sport in Bihar. He encouraged them to design a future roadmap for Kabaddi in the state and promised to consider their suggestions for further promoting the sport.
Highlighting plans to elevate sports within the education system, the Governor announced that every university in Bihar would soon have a dedicated Dean of Sports, a Sports Cell, and qualified coaches, including those specialising in Kabaddi. He also proposed the idea of hosting a national inter-university Kabaddi tournament to place Bihar at the forefront of the sport. The Governor stressed the importance of supporting students’ sporting interests alongside their studies and assured that all efforts would be made to advance sports opportunities in Bihar.
Kumar Vijay Singh, Chairman of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association, was also present at the event to celebrate this achievement and vision for the future.
