Patna: Bihar girls finished seventh in the 41st Sub-Junior National Ball Badminton Championship being played at Mancherial (Telangana). In the quarterfinal match, Bihar girls lost to the eventual champion Andhra Pradesh 21-35, 24-35.
In the classification match, Bihar girls beat Telangana 35-20, 35-28. Giving this information, Gouri Shankar, secretary of Bihar Ball Badminton Association, said that Chhotu Kumar (Begusarai), who performed brilliantly for Bihar boys team in the championship and Kajal Kumari (Siwan), the captain of Bihar girls team were given the ‘Best Upcoming Players Award’.
President of Bihar Ball Badminton Association and member of Bihar Legislative Council Prof Nawal Kishore Yadav,vice president prof Suheli Mehta congratulated on Bihar girls team for getting seventh place in national tournament.
GST advocate Mithilesh Kumar Mandal, BBBA state secretary Gouri Shankar, joint secretary Mitali Mitra, Ranjan Kumar Gupta, secretary of Patna District Ball Badminton Association Dr Arun Dayal, team manager Rakesh Ranjan, coach Vikas Kumar and Vinod Kumar Dhoni congratulated Bihar teams for their improved performance. They also congratulated Chhotu Kumar and Kajal Kumari for their achievements.
