Patna: Bihar Cricket Academy secured their spots in the final of the Abhishek Memorial Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament. Bihar Cricket Academy triumphed over AK Cricket Academy with a 99-run , while Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy overwhelmed Pankaj Sir Cricket Center with a 201-run victory to enter the semifinals on Tuesday.
In the first semi-final, held at La Martiniere World School under the auspices of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, AK Cricket Academy exited the field in protest over an umpire’s decision, resulting in Bihar Cricket Academy being awarded the win by the organising committee. This decision was shared by Santosh Tiwari, founder secretary of the organising body.
The match saw AK Cricket Academy winning the toss and opting to field. Bihar Cricket Academy, batting first, posted 196 runs for 5 wickets in 23 overs, with Ravi Shankar scoring 65 and Ayush Kumar 50. In reply, AK Cricket Academy managed 97 runs for 7 wickets in 12.5 overs before leaving the field. Aman Singh, who scored 13 runs and took 2 wickets, was awarded Player of the Match.
In the quarterfinals, Pankaj Sir Cricket Center chose to field after winning the toss. Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy’s Abhishek Raj put up a stellar performance, scoring 192 runs off 66 balls, helping his team amass 300 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Raj’s explosive innings included 15 fours and 18 sixes. In response, Pankaj Sir Cricket Center was bowled out for 99 runs in 14.4 overs, with Mohammad Salik delivering exceptional bowling. Abhishek Raj received the Player of the Match award, sponsored by Rize Coaching IIT.
