Patna: Bihar Corporate Cricket League Season 2 got off to a colourful start at the Urja Stadium on Thursday. The league was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Malla, Principal Secretary, IT and Beltron MD. He also unveiled the trophy and was introduced to the players.
On this occasion, he praised the organisers of the league and said that it is a commendable initiative. Such events play an important role in the development of interest among people towards sports, he said.
A large number of cricket lovers were present along with senior and former players. The guests were welcomed by the organising secretary Nishant. Mrityunjay Jha anchored the stage.
Devjit Talpatra, MD, Straight Drive, Patna District Cricket Association Ad-hoc Committee Chairman Rajesh Kumar, former Ranji Trophy players Tarun Kumar Bhola, Sanjay Kumar Pintu, Omprakash, Sanjay Pandey, League Mentor Nikhilesh Ranjan, League President Varun were present as special guests on the occasion.
In the opening match of the league, Global beat Beltron by 56 runs. Beltron won the toss and invited Global to bat first. Global scored 230 for 4 off 20 overs. In reply, Beltron scored 174 for 9 off 20 overs.
May 26 fixture: SDLLP vs Sarvodaya, from 3:00 pm and ICICI vs Basa, from 6:00 pm.
