Patna, July 22: Bihar chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that “Har Khet Tak Irrigation Ka Pani” (irrigation water to every agricultural field) scheme should be completed by 2025 under any circumstances. “Work should be done expeditiously on interlinking of rivers inside Bihar. Check dams should be made as per the need. Due to this the environment is protected, greenery is also maintained”, he said while reviewing the “Har Khet Tak Irrigation Ka Pani” scheme on Thursday.
The chief minister told the officers: “You are aware of the plans of the Taal area”. He said the government did a lot of work in this regard. Now people in Sitamarhi and Sheohar can easily move throughout the year. The situation has improved in other areas as well.
The Chief Minister said that check dams should be built in districts like Banka, Jamui, Bhagalpur, Aurangabad, Kaimur as per the requirement. He said that the water resources department should also take the services of retired engineers, if needed, to fulfill the plans of its responsibility. If the water resources department is facing any difficulty, then it should take help from the agriculture department. A proposal should be prepared to increase the private tube well scheme. The government will provide all possible help in this. Ministers Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Amarendra Pratap Singh, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Shravan Kumar, Santosh Kumar Suman and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
