Bihar CM Inaugurates New Assembly Guest House Ahead of All India Presiding Officers’ Conference

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed guest house within the Bihar Legislative Assembly premises on Wednesday. The event was attended by senior ministers, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav.

The guest house was built to host the All India Presiding Officers’ Conference, scheduled for 20–21 January. This prestigious event will see participation from Speakers and Presiding Officers of legislative bodies across India. The facility aims to provide modern amenities and ensure a high-level experience for the guests.

During the inauguration, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lauded the construction, calling it a milestone in Bihar’s development. Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav described the guest house as a testament to the progressive vision of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also commended the preparations for the upcoming conference.

About the Conference

  • Approximately 300 delegates, including Speakers of 28 state assemblies, Chairpersons of 6 legislative councils, and representatives from Union Territories, will attend.
  • Discussions will focus on the role of legislative bodies in strengthening the constitutional framework.

The conference will be held in the central hall of the assembly, with an inaugural session on 20 January and a closing session on 21 January. Delegates will also visit key tourist attractions in Patna, such as Hari Mandir Sahib Gurudwara, Bapu Tower, Sabhyata Dwar, and the Bihar Museum.
