Patna: Following the expansion of the Nitish Kumar cabinet in Bihar, departments were distributed among all ministers on Thursday. Vijay Mandal has been assigned the Disaster Management Department. Notably, one department has been withdrawn from Santosh Suman, the son of former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. Under the ministry allocations, Sanjay Saraogi has been entrusted with the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.
The Information Technology Department, previously held by Santosh Suman, has been reassigned. He will now oversee only the Minor Water Resources Department. Meanwhile, Krishna Kumar Mantu has been appointed as the new Information Technology Minister. This reshuffle comes as the state prepares for assembly elections, which are just 8-9 months away. The Bihar cabinet expansion has also seen the induction of seven new ministers.
