Patna: In the 36th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi and 11th Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Competition held at Cuttack, Bihar boys team won three gold, two silver and one bronze medals and won the champions trophy. This information was given by Samta Rahi, joint secretary of Bihar Taekwondo Association.
He said that in this tournament held from March 24 to 27 under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India, Rohit Malakar in the boys’ category of over 50 kg, Ratnesh Kumar in the under-41 kg and Raj Nayak in the under-29 kg weight category won the gold medals for Bihar.
In the under-50 kg weight category, Vishwajit Kumar, in the under-44 kg Himanshu Kumar won the silver and in the under-27 kg weight category, Ankush Kumar won the bronze medal. He said that about 900 players from 29 states had participated in the championship. Haryana became the runner-up.
He said that Bihar won a total of eight medals. In the girls’ category, Chahat Priya won silver medal in the over 47 kg weight category, while Varsha Kumari won the bronze medal in the under-32 kg weight category.
