Patna: In the BCCI Under-19 tournament, Bihar team started with victory by defeating Assam by five wickets on Thursday.
In the tournament being played at Sector 16 Ground, Chandigarh for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Assam, batting first, succumbed to the bowlers of Bihar and the entire team was bundled out for 162 runs in 33.3 overs.
Anup Kumar took four wickets for 14 runs, Vivek Yatharth took two wickets, Vasudev, Rahul, Satyam and Suman took 1 wicket each.
Bihar achieved the target by losing five wickets in 30 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s innings of 86 runs played an important role in Bihar’s victory. This innings contained 15 fours and one six in 76 balls. Apart from this, Taufiq scored 16 runs and captain Animesh scored 38 runs.
