Patna: Bihar defeated Sikkim by 70 runs in the Syed Mustaq Ali T-20 tournament played at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, Mumbai. Bihar won the toss, and batting first scored 182 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, while Sikkim were all out for 112 in 17.5 overs.
For Bihar, Bipin Sourav played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 90 runs, while captain Babul made 47 runs. Sakibul Gani scored 30 runs in 12 balls. Sengupta and Sumit took one wicket each for Sikkim.
In reply, Sikkim’s team had a bad start. Bihar’s Abhijeet gave the first blow to Sikkim by getting the wicket of Jyoti Bind (1 run) caught by Bipin on the third ball of his first over. Abhijeet gave the second blow to Sikkim by bowling Sikkim captain Nilesh Lachimane (20 runs) in his third over.
Later, Paramjeet broke the middle order of Sikkim by dismissing Ashish Thapa (14 runs) and Paljor (4 runs). Paramjeet took four wickets, while Sachin Kumar Singh took three and Suraj Kashyap took one wicket.
Bihar’s next match is against Services on October 27.
