Bihar athletes rewrite history in Junior National

Patna: In the ongoing 37th Junior National Athletic Championship being held in Guwahati, the athletes of Bihar created a new history by winning five more medals and brought laurels to Bihar.

Bihar’s promising athlete Tanya Mishra won silver medal in triathlon event, while other player Ashish also won silver medal in triathlon event for boys. Pradeep brought laurels to Bihar by winning a silver medal in the javelin throw event of boys U-14 section. Nishi Kumar of Bihar won a silver medal in girls U-18 years javelin throw. Virendra Yadav broke national record to win silver medal in the boys U-16 section. The Bihar lad missed the gold by just 31 cm.

In this championship, the promising athletes of Bihar won medals by giving tough competition to the athletes of state like Haryana; it is a matter of pride for Bihar.

Due to the dedication, hard work and proper training and cooperation by the Bihar Sports Authority, today the athletes of Bihar are bringing glory to Bihar by winning medals in various sports.

Jitendra Kumar Rai, Minister of Art Culture and Youth Department and  Bandana Preyshi , Secretary, Art Culture and Youth Department and Raveendran Sankaran , Director General, Bihar State Sports Authority congratulated Bihar athletes  Tanya Mishra, Ashish Pradeep, Nishi Kumari and Virender Yadav for winning medals in national championships.
