Bihar assured of another medal in Yonex-Sunrise East Zone Inter-State Badminton Championship

Gaya: Bihar pair of Parag Singh and Kumari Bhawna entered the semifinals of junior mixed doubles and ensured one medal for Bihar in individual junior mixed doubles of the Yonex-Sunrise East Zone Inter-State Team and Individual Badminton Championship-2024 at Lord Buddha Badminton Academy (DPS Campus, Gaya) courts on Friday.

Parag Singh and Kumari Bhawna beat S Mallick and Priya Pradhan 22-20,21-14 to enter the semifinals.

In the Junior girls U-19 singles, Bihar Srija moved into the next round defeating A Misha of Odisha 21-07, 21-13.

In the junior boys U-19 singles Bihar’s Saksham Vats lost to P Kushwaha of Uttar Pradesh 11-21, 15-21.

In the junior girls’ doubles, Bihar pair of Srija and Vaibhavi Singh lost to Devanshi Gautam and Ridhima Singh 11-21, 13-21.

Earlier, in the team championship Uttarakhand beat Uttar Pradesh 3-2 in the to clinch men’s team championship title. In the women’s team championship Uttarakhand defeated Uttar Pradesh 3-0 to bag the title.

In the boys’ team championship final, Uttar Pradesh beat Odisha 2-0 to claim the title.

West Bengal won the girls team championship title defeating Uttarakhand 2-1.
