Jamui, June 5: After two defeats, Bhagalpur defeated Lakhisarai by 5 wickets in the Angika Zone of Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament.
In the match played at the local Sri Krishna Stadium, Lakhisarai won the toss and batted first and scored 194 runs in 40 overs losing 8 wickets. Nilesh contributed 48, Abir 34 and Sanjay 21 runs. Viraj of Bhagalpur took 4, Aarav 2 while Khalid and Aditya took onw wicket each.
Chasing the target of 194 runs, Bhagalpur achieved the target in 31.3 overs losing 5 wickets. Mohit Raj contributed 42, Om Keshav 36 and Aarav 35 runs.
Bhaskar of Lakhisarai took 3 wickets and Karan, Rishabh took onw wicket each.
Thus Bhagalpur won the match by 5 wickets. Man of the Match award was given to Aarav Raj of Bhagalpur jointly by State Panel Umpires Deepak Kumar (Khagaria) and Sachin Kumar (Muzaffarpur).
