Bengali New Year Poila Boishakh celebrated at Bengali Club, Lucknow

Lucknow: Bengali New Year ‘Poila Boishakh’ i.e. the first day of Baisaakh was celebrated with great pomp at Bengali Club, Lucknow. For the past many years, Bengali New Year has been celebrated in this Club with great fervour with songs and music presented by various artists coming from across the country and this year too, Bengali Star Jalsa’s Famous singer Soumi Ghosh from Kolkata’s reality show ‘Super Singer 3’ spread her magic on the stage enticing the audience to dance.

The program was efficiently coordinated by Nirmoy Mitra. The super singer Soumi Ghosh was honored with a bouquet by Ms. Trisha Sinha, Asstt. General Secretary of the club.

Soumi enthralled the crowd with renditions of famous Bengali songs “Aye Shundero Shornali Sandhyaen”, “Tumi Koto Je Doore”, “Kichhu Khon Aaro Na Hoye”, “Nishirat Banka Chand”, “Tomra Kunjo Sajao Go”. Leading the show forward with some melodious Hindi Bollywood songs like “Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla”, “Roz Roz Aankhon Talay”, she drove the evening to newer heights .

Dignatries who graced the occasion were Mr. Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, IAS, Mrs. Leena Johri, IAS, Abha Kala, Chief Commissioner Income Tax, Mr. Debashish Chanda, iRS, Lucknow’s renowned surgeon Dr.Shubhashish Munshi, Dr. Manoj Mitra, former National Badminton player Mr.Sajal Banerjee and advisor Sahara India Parivar Mr. Abhijit Sarkar.

The Club President Arun Kumar Banerjee expressed his heartfelt thanks and warm wishes to every one present to celebrate the New Year. All the guests present for the evening, were welcomed with the famous Bengali sweet Darbesh.
