Patna: Bihar had to face defeat at the hands of Baroda in its second match of Vijay Merchant Trophy Under-16 cricket tournament. Bihar team got a lead of 30 runs over Baroda on the basis of first innings but in the second innings of Baroda, Bihar bowlers did not prove to be effective, and Baroda achieved the target of 273 runs by losing 5 wickets.
On the third day of the match played at Veerangan Cricket Academy in Pune, Bihar started playing ahead of 198 runs for five wickets in its second innings and after adding 44 runs, Bihar team was all out for 242 runs. In the second innings, for Bihar, Ganesh Chauhan scored 38 runs, Prince Kumar scored 29 runs, Dhananjay Kumar Singh scored 13 runs, Captain Adarsh Sinha scored 58 runs, Laliteshwar Bhadauria scored 48 runs, Mohit Kumar scored 14 runs.
For Baroda, Harsh Pankajbhai Panchal took 5 wickets for 54 runs, Dhurwal Rabri took 2 wickets for 21 runs, Kavir Desai took 1 wicket for 72 runs.
Baroda achieved the target of 273 runs by scoring 276 runs for five wickets in 64.1 overs. In the second innings, for Baroda, Mahimaan scored 68 runs, Yug 20, Dhurwal 67, captain Aditya Yadav 52 and Rao Khush scored 42 not out.
For Bihar, Abhishek took 1 wicket for 56 runs, Shwetabh Thakur took 1 wicket for 60 runs, Prince Kumar took 1 wicket for 24 runs and Adarsh Sinha took 1 wicket for 35 runs.
Bihar scored 212 runs in its first innings while Baroda scored 182 runs in its first innings.
