Bhagalpur: With arrest of one more and surrender of yet another in court today all six accused allegedly involved in gang rape of a minor girl in field of aerodrome here have been nabbed by police. In the incident of July 11 four accused were nabbed earlier by Bhagalpur Police.
The fifth accused arrested today has been identified as Sohit Mandal a resident of Sacchidanand Nagar Colony while the remaining accused who surrendered in court today due to police pressure also a resident of Sacchidanand Nagar Colony, has been identified as Sunny Yadav.
The gang rape accused arrested earlier identified as Mitin alias Niti, Ritiesh Kumar, Bhola Mandal and Ram Kumar are also residents of Sacchidanand Nagar Colony. The victim was gangraped by the accused at aerodrome field last week where she had gone to meet her boyfriend.
At a press conference last evening City SP Raj informed the culprits initially snatched mobile of the victim and subsequently four among them gangraped the victim. Two among the culprits held boy friend of victim hostage while others raped her.
As per information on July 11 at around 7PM the victim had gone to meet her boy friend at aerodrome field. Two among the accused present at aerodrome field at that time physically assaulted the victim and her boyfriend initially.
Later they snatched motorcycle of victim’s boyfriend overpowering him. Subsequently they called their four other friends over phone who arrived at the spot shortly. The crime was committed following their arrival at the spot.
All the accused fled from the spot after committing the crime. The victim preferring to remain silent did not say anything to her family members about the incident. As per information provided by police, she only told her family members that some anti-socials snatched her mobile phone.
However, brother of victim’s boyfriend intimated her family members about the incident. After family members of victim came to know about the incident a FIR in connection with the incident was lodged at Tilkamanjhi PS.
Subsequently FSL and DIU team inspected the spot and medical examination of the victim was conducted. On directive of SSP Anand Kumar a police team headed by Ajay Choudhury, City DSP was constituted to nab the culprits.
Meanwhile mobile phone of victim’s boyfriend which was also snatched by culprits involved in the crime has been recovered by police from possession of the accused arrested today.
