Aurangabad chalk out big win over Buxar, become Shahabad Zone champion

Bhabua, June 12: Aurangabad defeated Buxar by ten wickets in the final league match of Shahabad Zone of BCA Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament organized under the aegis of Bihar Cricket Association and hosted by Kaimur District Cricket Association.

With this victory, Aurangabad team became the champion of Shahabad Zone. Aurangabad, Kaimur and Bhojpur teams scored 9 points each with 3 wins and 1 loss in 4 matches, but due to better net run rate, Aurangabad (net run rate +1.893) team remained on top. Kaimur (net run rate +1.433) remained at second place while Bhojpur (net run rate +0.884) remained at third place.

In the match played at the local Jagjivan Stadium, Buxar won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first after winning the toss, Buxar scored just 82 runs in 34 overs losing all wickets. Rohit Kumar scored 29 runs in 56 balls. Apart from this, Someshwar Kumar scored 16 runs in 39 balls. The remaining batsmen could not even reach double digits.

For Aurangabad, Vishal Satyam took 3 wickets for 13 runs and Saurav Kumar took 3 wickets for 9 runs, Badal Kumar took 2 wickets for 29 runs and Arjun and Priyanshu took 1 wicket each.

Chasing 82 runs, Aurangabad team achieved the target by scoring 85 runs without losing any wicket in just 6.3 overs in which Vikas Kumar scored a brilliant half century and scored an unbeaten 53 runs in just 22 balls, apart from this Anmol Singh scored an unbeaten 33 runs in 17 balls.

The Player of the Match trophy was presented to Vishal Satyam by former joint secretary of Aurangabad district Vikas Singh for his brilliant bowling.
