Patna: Bihar were struggling at 134 runs for the loss of five wickets in their first innings in reply to Assam’s first innings score of 405 runs on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match in Guwahati on Saturday.
Beginning the day at 235 runs for five, Assam scored 405 runs in their first innings. Abhishek Thakuri hit a brilliant century 115 runs. For Assam, Mrinmoy Dutta an scored unbeaten 72 runs. For Bihar, Sakibul Gani took 4 wickets, Amod Yadav took 2 wickets, Veer Pratap, Ashutosh Aman and Paramjeet took one wicket each, while one player was run out.
At the end of the second day’s play, Bihar were 271 runs behind Assam. Bihar team did not play well. Bipin Saurabh scored 39 runs, Rishav scored 22 runs, Sakibul scored 10 runs, Raghavendra Pratap scored 15 runs and Piyush Kumar Singh was out without opening his account. Veer Pratap (11) and Paramjeet (26) were at the crease.
For Assam, Mukhtar Hussain took 3 wickets and Mrinmoy and Ranjit Mali took one wicket each.
