Gopalganj: A shower of prizes awaits players in the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Kho-Kho League (Under-14 and Under-18), set to take place at Minj Stadium in Gopalganj. The event is being organised under the joint aegis of the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, with hosting responsibilities undertaken by the District Administration, Gopalganj.
Providing this information, the Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu, stated that the league, organised in collaboration with the Union Sports Ministry, the Sports Authority of India, and the Kho-Kho Federation of India, will feature substantial prize money. The winning team in each category will receive Rs 2.75 lakh, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 1.75 lakh. Additionally, the two teams finishing third will receive Rs 75,000 each. Apart from these, individual prizes, including glittering trophies, will also be distributed.
Gopalganj’s District Sports Officer, Abdul Rashid, revealed that preparations are in full swing to ensure the league’s success. Three courts are being constructed at Minj Stadium for the event, and excellent arrangements for players’ accommodation and meals have been made. He assured that every comfort of the players will be prioritised.
Gopalganj District Magistrate (DM) Prashant Kumar CH (IAS) conducted a review of the league’s preparations. During the meeting, the DM directed officials to ensure that no effort is spared in hosting the players, technical officials, and other dignitaries. Emphasis was placed on security and other essential arrangements. Deputy Development Commissioner Kumar Nishant Vivek and other senior district officials attended the review meeting.
Meanwhile, Kho-Kho Association of Bhar Secretary Neeraj Kumar Pappu confirmed the arrival of teams, with Karnataka and host Bihar already reaching Gopalganj.
