Katihar: Katihar and Purnia played goaless draw in the first match of 71st Bihar State Football Championships for Moinul Haq Cup at Rajendra Stadium in Katihar on Saturday. Both the teams collected one point ecah.
In the second match, Araria beat Kishanganj 2-0. Neeraj Lakra scored the first and second goals for Araria in the 36th and 58th minutes.
The judges for the match were Vishal Kumar, Mohan Kumar, Mukesh Rai and Vinay Kumar.
Despite the heavy rain, all the players performed very well in the league match held at Rajendra Stadium on Saturday. Kanchan Keshari did the commentary of the match.
District Football Association President Shiv Prakash Garodia, Secretary Dilip Kumar Sah alias Bhola, Patron Ramesh Kedia along with representatives of the association were present on the occasion.
Bihar Football Association’s secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain said that on August 27, the first match will be played between Kishanganj and Katihar from 1 pm and the second match will be played between Madhepura and Purnia from 3.30 pm.
