Ankita Raj of Bihar Achieves Ninth Place in World Cadet Chess Championship

Patna: Ankita Raj from Bihar secured an impressive ninth place in the Under-8 age group at the World Cadet Chess Championship held in Batumi, Georgia. The competition, which featured 288 players from 37 countries, was divided into two phases.

In the first phase, Ankita scored 4.5 points, earning her a spot in the second phase. During this stage, she faced off against India’s Nakshatra, who held fifth place in Group B. Ankita triumphed in their two matches, winning by a margin of 1.5 points.

Among the 23 Indian participants in the tournament, four were girls in the Under-8 category. Ankita’s outstanding performance made her the top performer in her category from India. Her success drew congratulations from the All Bihar Chess Association, with President Diljeet Khanna and Secretary Dharmendra Kumar praising her achievement.
