Patna: Andhra Pradesh crushed Bihar by 9 wickets in the group D league match of the Women’s Under-19 T20 Cricket Tournament organsied by BCCI at ICL Gurunanak College ground in Chennai on Saturday. This was Bihar’s last match in the league state and Bihar had collected 12 points with three wins and two defeats.
Andhra Pradesh were on the top of the pool with 20 points to their credit. Now, Bihar will have to depend on the outcome of the Chhattisgarh vs Hyderabad match. Chhattisgarh have two 10 points while Hyderabad have 8 points. If Chhattisgarh win, it will become the second team to qualify for the knockout phase. If Hyderabad win, then they will also get 12 points and then the second team from the pool D will be decided on the basis of run rate.
Andhra Pradesh won the toss and invited Bihar to bat. Bihar tumbled before the Andhra attack and could manage to score 57 runs off 15 overs losing all the wickets. For Bihar, Yashita Singh scored 17, Kumari Nishtha scored 10, Komal R Kumari scored 8 and Khushi Gupta scored 7 runs. Apart from this, Mamta Kumari Patel scored 2 runs, Vaidhi Yadav made 2, Arya Seth scored 2, Harshita Bhardwaj scored 6, Simran Kumari made 0, Anshika Raj scored 0, while Rupa remained not out on 1 run.
For Andhra Pradesh, NR Shree Charani took 2 wickets for 12 runs, Tanmayi bagged 2 wickets for 11, S Lakshmi Prasarmi grabbed 1wicket for 3 runs. Three Bihar batswomen were declared run out.
In reply, Andhra Pradesh raced to the target and scored 59 for the loss of one wicket off 8.2 overs with the help of 32 not out from P Ranga Lakshmi and 19 not out by C Udavitha. Khushi Gupta took 1 wicket for 18 runs.
