Patna: Andhra Pradesh defeated Bihar by an innings and 157 runs in the Ranji Trophy match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday. Resuming at 111 for eight, Bihar were all out for 124 runs in their second innings.

Bihar scored 182 in their first innings and 124 in the second innings. Andhra Pradesh scored 463 runs in their first innings.

On the last day of the match, Bihar team was all out after scoring 124 runs. In the second innings for Bihar, Piyush Kumar Singh scored 12 runs, Shraman Nigrodh scored 9 runs, Baljeet Singh Bihari scored 8 runs, Sakibul Gani failed to open his account. Babul Kumar scored 34 runs, Bipin Saurabh scored 1 run, Raghavendra Pratap scored 14 runs, Veer Pratap Singh failed to open his account. Himanshu Singh remained unbeaten after scoring 12 runs.

For Andhra, Lalit Mohan took 4 wickets, KV Saikanth took 3 wickets and Nitish Reddy, Soyeb Mohammad and Prashant Kumar took one wicket each. Andhra Pradesh’s Nitish Reddy was declared man of the match by referee Rajib Deb for his outstanding performance in the match.

Bihar’s next match will be held at Baraspara Guwahati against Assam from February 9.
