Patna: The Abhishek Memorial Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament is set to take place at the Bihar Cricket Academy ground, organised by La Martiniere World School, Sampatchak, from 20th October. The tournament will be held under the aegis of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, according to its founder, Santosh Tiwari.
Tiwari announced that teams from schools, academies, and institutions will compete in the knockout-format tournament, with a maximum of 32 teams allowed to participate. The organising committee will provide refreshments and cold drinks for all players and staff.
Each match will consist of 25 overs per side, with two matches scheduled to be played each day.
An organising committee is being formed to ensure the smooth running of the tournament. In addition to the glittering trophies for the winners and runners-up, individual awards will be presented to players, including the ‘Man of the Match’ for each day. Other accolades such as Player of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Best Fielder will also be awarded, with recognition for emerging players as well.
