Bhagalpur: A road has gone missing could sound intriguing. However this has come true in case of residents of Khadampur village in Rajoun block of Banka district. The village residents claim the road connecting their village with Kharouni village located in same block has vanished overnight recently.
The Circle Officer (CO) of Rajoun block has been intimated about missing road by Khadimpur villagers. They have alleged that some influential people of Kharouni village have planted wheat crop on the road after ploughing the road with tractor.
The road was ploughed and plantation of wheat crop was undertaken on the road overnight, they have further alleged. As per residents of Khadampur village they found road missing when they woke in morning. Connectivity of their village with other places has been badly affected since road was encroached and ploughed for wheat plantation, they say.
The villagers added missing road was major link road for people of Khadampur village. Aggrieved villagers in number of cases claim that road that has been ploughed for wheat crop plantation was located between boundaries of agricultural holdings.
Nearly 500 meter portion of Kutchha road had been concretized in past, as per information. The concrete portion of the road was also ploughed by people for plantation of wheat crop.
The concerned officials whom Khadampur residents had approached with their complaints have assured to look into the matter and take stern action against people if any involved in damaging the road.
Residents of the area informed officials have intimated aggrieved villagers that all concerned will be asked to remain present in Janata Darbar this week where issue would be discussed for ascertaining fact. Meanwhile discontentment prevails among people of the area who have been put to inconvenience because of missing road.
