Patna: Former MP Hiralal Rai Memorial Bihar State Senior State-Level Wrestling Championship will be oragnised at Ramjaipal College in Chapra (Saran) from on October 21 to October 23.
Freestyle wrestling in the weight categories 57, 61, 65, 70, 74, 79, 86, 92, 97 &125 kgs and Greco Roman wrestling in the weight categories 55,60,63,67,72,77,82,87,97,&130 kg will be held. In the women section bouts will be organised in the 50, 53, 55, 57, 59, 62, 65, 68, 72, & 76 kg weight categories.
Bihar Wrestling Association will take special care of the bout schedule in the championships. Wrestlers will not be given any kind of relaxation. President Saran District Wrestling Association Praveen Kumar alias Piku Rai said that all the preparations for the competition have been completed and arrangements have been made for the accommodation of the players in the university and local hotels. He said that male and female wrestlers from 38 districts of Bihar state are participating in the championships. Wrestlers will be selected for the state camp on the basis of their performance. Wresters above 18 years of age would be allowed to participate in the championships.
