Tamil Nadu beat Bihar by 37 runs in Senior Women’s T20 cricket tournament

Patna: Tamil Nadu defeated Bihar by 37 runs in the Senior Women’s T20 cricket tournament organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at Amingaon ground in Guwahati on Sunday.

Earlier, Bihar won the toss and decided to field. Playing first, Tamil Nadu scored 132 for five in 20 overs. In reply, Bihar’s team could manage to score 95 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for 9 wickets.

For Tamil Nadu, R Avrana 17, Niranjana Nagarajan 33, MD Thiruskamini 6, Nethra L 36 not out, S Anusha 11, A Alexi 26 not out were the main contributors with the bat.

For Bihar, Preeti Kumari took 3 wickets for 22, Rachna Kumari took one wicket for 27 and Nivedita took one wicket for 19 runs.

Chasing a target of 133 runs, the Bihar batting faltered and scored 95 runs for nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Captain Apoorva Kumari scored 34 runs in 42 balls with the help of 3 fours. Pragati Singh 4, Preeti 8, Nikki Kumari 13, Komal P Kumari 1, Vishalakshi 4, Apoorva 9 not out, Rachna Kumari 1, Preet Priya 5, Nivedita 4 and Preeti Kumari 2 not out  were the other contributirs. Extras added 10 runs.

For Tamil Nadu, S Anusha (2 for 23 runs), Arshi Choudhary (1 for 8 runs), A Aloxi (1 for 8 runs), KN Ramayashree (1 for 17 runs), SB Keerthana (2 for 14 runs), Akshara Srinivasan (1 for 15 runs)  were wicket takers. Bihar will next face Jammu and Kashmir on October 18.
