Patna: Kaimur registered an impressive victory by defeating Bhojpur by 4 wickets in the BCA Men’s U23 One Day Trophy organised by Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) at Vidya Vihar Cricket Ground. With this victory, Kaimur entered the quarterfinals.
Bhojpur were all out for 173 runs in 44.5 overs. For Bhojpur Ritwij Raj Singh scored 40 runs (5 fours, 1 six) in 54 balls, Paramjit Singh scored 46 runs (5 fours) in 63 balls and Priyanshu Subhash Kumar scored 30 runs (3 fours) in 64 balls.
For Kaimur, Dhanesh Chauhan took 3 wickets for 34 runs in 10 overs, while Diwan Dhanesh Khan took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 7.5 overs. Apart from this, Nishant Kumar Singh took 2 and Anubhav Jaiprakash Singh took 1 wicket.
Chasing the target, Kaimur won the match by scoring 175 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 21 overs. Captain Shashank Sanjay Upadhyay scored 34 runs (5 fours, 1 six) in 17 balls, while Nishant Kumar Singh played a quick-fire innings of 31 runs (4 sixes) in 14 balls. Apart from this, Raju Kumar Sharma contributed 25 runs (2 fours) in 24 balls.
For Bhojpur, Paramjeet Singh, Shivam Sujit Singh and Gulshan Gaurav Kumar took two wickets each.
