Bhagalpur: Chaos and confusion prevailed in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital (JLMCH) here last night when a man grabbing a poisonous Viper snake in his hand, that had bitten him, walked into emergency ward of hospital for treatment.
The man identified as Prakash Mandal, a resident of Mirachak locality of city, was bitten by a viper last night near his house. After being bitten, Mandal grabbed the viper alive and holding neck region of the snake tightly by hand, came to hospital for treatment with some other people of his locality.
The attendants of patients and doctors present in emergency ward were scared to see Mandal holding alive poisonous snake by his hand. As the victim of snake bite was reluctant to let the snake go, the doctors had to face tough time in providing him treatment.
Chaos and confusion prevailed in emergency ward since attendants of patients beside other people present were apprehensive that viper could bite others in case it managed to slip out of hand of victim. Mandal who was reportedly standing initially laid down on floor of the emergency ward subsequently holding the snake tightly.
As per information later some people present at the scene having idea of capturing poisonous snake alive managed to put the viper in a sack after Mandal could be persuaded to release the snake. Treatment of Mandal started after viper was captured and put in a sack. His condition is stated to be stable at present.
