Patna: The second Sanjay Sinha Memorial One Day Kabaddi Tournament will be held on 6th September, under the aegis of Dev Kabaddi Academy, Fatuha. This was announced by the Managing Director of Dev Kabaddi Academy, Kumar Vijay Singh.
He noted that the late Sanjay Sinha made significant contributions to the development of Kabaddi in Bihar. Sinha was also the Vice President of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association and played a crucial role in various aspects of the sport in Bihar, including serving as the manager of the gold medal-winning Indian team in the Women’s World Cup. Sinha was passionate about establishing a Kabaddi academy in Bihar, and the concept of Dev Kabaddi Academy was developed under his guidance.
Singh added that Dev Kabaddi Academy aims to honour Sinha’s memory on his second death anniversary by organising this Kabaddi tournament, as a tribute from Kabaddi enthusiasts in Bihar.
Regarding the tournament, Kumar Vijay Singh mentioned that matches will be played in both the women’s and men’s categories, with two teams competing in each. In the women’s category, Patna will face Begusarai, while in the men’s category, Dev Kabaddi Academy will compete against Athmalgola. Members of the late Sanjay Sinha’s family will also be present during the event.
