Bhabua, June 20: Patna defeated Jamui by 16 runs and entered the semifinals of BCA Shyamal Sinha Under-16 Inter District Cricket Tournament on Thursday.
In the match played at the local Jagjivan Stadium and hosted by Kaimur District Cricket Association, Patna won the toss and decided to bat first. Patna scored a respectable score of 242 runs after losing all wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Anmol Kumar scored a brilliant 75 runs in 80 balls. From the other end, Rohit Pandey also scored scored 53 runs in 55 balls. Apart from this, Piyush Kumar played a half-century innings of 59 runs in just 38 balls. Apart from this, Dharamveer contributed 25 and Ayan Ritesh contributed 10 runs.
Sumit Kumar bowled brilliantly for Jamui and took 6 wickets for 43 runs. Apart from this, Ayush Raj, Ravi Kishan and Lakshya took 1 wicket each.
Chasing 242 runs, Jamui scored 226 runs losing all wickets in 38.1 overs and remained 16 runs short of the target. Nishu Yadav scored a brilliant 81 runs in 98 balls. Apart from this, Sumit Kumar scored 25 runs in 34 balls, Shivam Raj scored 24 runs in 17 balls, Dipanshu scored 19 runs in 16 balls and Ayush Raj scored 18 runs in 23 balls.
For Patna, Kartik Pandey took 3 wickets for 40 runs, Piyush Kumar took 2 wickets for 38 runs and Prince Dubey and Divyanshu took 1 wicket each.
The Player of the Match trophy was given to Anmol Kumar by Kaimur DCA Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh for his brilliant batting.
