Gorakhpur: Bihar entered the semifinals of East Zone Inter State Badminton Tournament (Senior Event) defeating Jharkhand 3-2 in the quarter-finals of the senior team event. Bihar now will face Uttarakhand.
In the first quarter-final match, Tabrez had a match with Binay, thanks to his brilliant game, Tabrez won the match easily 21-8, 21-14 to give Bihar a 1-0 lead but in the second singles match Saloni won the first game against Manisha 21-14 and despite taking the lead in the second game, she lost the game 20-22 and then Manisha won the third game 21-14 to give Jharkhand a 1-1 draw.
In the third quarterfinal, Bihar’s Siddharth Bhushan and Ambuj Prakash defeated Jharkhand’s Saksham and Anurag by 21-18, 21-14 to bring Bihar to a 2-1 lead. But the women disappointed once and lost the fourth match of the match. Here the pair of Sara and Pragya of Jharkhand defeated the pair of Akanksha and Simran 21-18, 21-16. Now it was the turn of the last match Bihar pair of of Tabrez and Saloni of Bihar defeated Jharkhand pair of of Faraz and Sonali 21-12, 21-10 to take Bihar to semifinals.
